May 2015 Favorites

Wow!  I remember starting this blog with my April Favorites, it feels like April was just yesterday! I can't believe May is already over.

May was more of a "rediscover" month for me. I purchased some new products toward the end of May, but I could not include that in my favorites because some packages have not arrived yet. There are also products that I just purchased few days ago, I don't think it would be fair to say they are my May favorites. Let's get started!

1) Guerlain- La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette

The weather has been really warm here in Vancouver, I figured it was time to bring out my summer perfume stash. I've talked about this in a previous post (My Perfume Collection), you can click on the link and read more about it there!

2) Guerlain- Rouge Automatique in Mitsouko140

I got this lipstick last winter and never had a chance to wear it. Mitsouko 140 is a shimmery coral color with a mix of orange and pink. It definitely screams summer to me! I typically don't like shimmery/ frosty color but since it's a summer lipstick, I made an exception! The color fades through out the day; however, it fades out naturally and does not look patchy at all. The formula is quite smooth and not drying. Packaging looks luxurious, the gold and the automatic lever!!!I have to admit; however, when applying this lipstick, I feel that the packaging is a little too bulky, other than that it's awesome!

3)YSL VOLUPTÉ Sheer Candy - Glossy Balm Crystal Color in 15 Rose Candy

Left to right: YSL, Guerlain

I mentioned this in my April Favorites, check it out if you haven't already. This is truly an everyday color for me because the color is quite sheer and it's not frosty. The color stays on my lips for a long time and it does not dry out my lips. Also, it tastes yummy! This color is now only available on Sephora's website (exclusive color for Sephora). Go check it out!

4) ELF- Stipple Brush

This is a rediscover favorite. E.L.F brushes were the first ever brushes I bought when I first started. They are so affordable and most of them have pretty good quality. This one was from their Studio Line, $3 each. This stipple brush was meant for foundation, and that was the reason why I got it. However, I realized this brush is actually not dense enough for the flawless foundation look I like. Right now I'm using this brush for my blush. As you can see in the picture, the brush tip is pink. I like to dip this brush in my blush and stipple it on my face. It gives the blush a more natural look and it's fool proof because it allows me to build up the blush color layer by layer.

If you have a blush that is way too pigmented, you can try using a stippling brush. It will give you more control over how much color you want on your face.

5) ELF- Complexion Perfection "Cool"

Another rediscover product. This is actually my second repurchase. Like I mentioned earlier, E.L.F was the first makeup brand I have ever purchased from. This is one of the product I bought in my first purchase, and I loved it! After I finished the first one, I never bought one again because it is only available on the ELF website in the states. Fortunately, I received this as a gift recently and I finally remember how much I love this!

Anyways, this is a complexion perfection powder that has blue, pink, green and yellow powder. You need to use a fluffy powder brush to swirl is all around. Mine is in the color "cool" but I believe they came out with  a "warm" tone also. This corrects my skin color really nicely. Lately when I don't feel like foundations or CC cream. I would apply concealer to needed area and use this powder all over the face. It sets my concealer and brightens up my skin. It's like magic!! This has no shimmer whatsoever so it's suitable for all skin type. Use a primer or moisturizer that suits your skin type underneath will give you a even better result.

6) Stila-Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Dark Brown

This is one of the best liquid eye liners I have ever tried. It is easy to control and it really stays on all day through rain or sweat without any primer. I have both the black and the dark brown one but I prefer dark brown because I think it looks more natural. One thing to remember is that it dries and set really fast, have your cotton swab and eye makeup remover ready to clean off the edges.

7) Urban Decay- 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in Ozone

I received this in my May IPSY Glam Bag. I love it! I have been using it almost every day, It does not dry out my lips and it goes well under my lipstick. It grasps on to my lipstick and really help the lipstick color stay on longer. I've also noticed that it's easier to remove lipstick at the end of the day if I use this under the lipstick. I would definitely purchase the full size when I am finish this.

Well that's all for my May favorites! I know there's not much this month but a lot of the products I am currently using were favorites from last month, that's how much I love them! Subscribe to my blog if you don't want to miss my future posts, there may be a few hauls(?) first impressions(?) my collections(?) in the up coming weeks. haha Let me know what you were loving in May and also what you would like to see next! [Comparison] Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz V.S. Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil

Hi!

Today I am comparing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and the Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil. I am sure many people heard of the Anastasia Brow Wiz before, it has been raved by many youtubers when it first came out. I was introduced to the brand Chella by IPSY, if you haven't already, you can read my IPSY May Glambag Unboxing.

Top: Anastasia Brow Wiz/ Bottom: Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil

1) Company Claim

Anastasia
An ultraslim mechanical pencil to shape, define, and fill in your brows for a natural, polished look. Sometimes brows need a little magic. This must-have pencil features an ultrafine, retractable tip to fill in gaps easily and mimic brow hair. Perfect for spot checking areas that may be sparse or over-tweezed, the smear-proof formula wears all day for a natural, fresh look. -"Sephora.ca"

Chella
The fine tip on this sleek European-designed mechanical pencil has a creamy consistency that glides into place and can also be lightly smudged for a more natural look (use the brush/comb attachment on Chella's razor, sold separately, to achieve this effect).-"Chella.com"

2) Product Texture
Left: Chella/ Right: Anastasia

Both products glide on smoothly. I find that the Anastasia one is stiffer in texture, more firm. Dom't get me wrong though, it does not hurt or pull the skin, it glides on smooth. Sometimes it requires a few stroke to see the color. The Chella one; however, feels more creamy, one swipe gets the color I wanted.

3) Staying Power
I did a test with wearing the product one on each side through out the day without brow gel. At the end of the day, my brows were both in place. I used a makeup wipe and it showed that both product were still on my brows. (YAY!)

4) packaging
Anastasia

The packaging is sleek and black with  copper/ orange writings. It is double ended, with the twist up brow pencil on one side and a spooly on the other side. Even though the spooly is convenient when travelling but it gets really dirty after a while. It is hard to clean but if you use it without cleaning it, there will be some fallout from the spooly. The whole product is a bit longer than other eyeliners or brow pencils, if you want to travel with it, it might be a snugg fit for regular makeup bags.

Chella

I mentioned in the May Glam Bag post that the white packaging seems a bit cheap to me at first glance. However, I don't mind the white packaging anymore, it is so much easier to find this product especially when it's put next to a bunch of black pencils. The packaging is actually pretty good quality, the cap did not fall off from the pencil when I travel. I like the length of the overall packaging since it is pretty much the same size as other pencil product. This is also a twist up pencil that is convenient. One down side is that it does not have the spooly on the other end, which means I need to bring an extra spooly or eyebrow brush.

5) Color Range
Left to Right: Anastasia Dark Brown, Chella Tantalizing Taupe, Anastasia Soft Brown

Anastasia
There are 9 colors to choose from. I have the Soft Brown and Dark Brown. I tend to grab the soft brown since I like my brow a bit lighter.

Chella
There are 6 colors in total. I received this in Tantalizing Taupe from my IPSY glam bag. I did not get to choose my color nor did I have the opportunity to try out different color. Having said that, I think this color works well on me.

6) Price/ Availability

Anastasia
$27CAD
This is available at Sephora

Chella
$18 USD
I believe you can only get this from Chella.com

Overall
Both products are amazing! The both have the convenient twist up applicator, provide easy control and are travel friendly. I really recommend the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. It has a wider color range and it is available in store for you to find the right shade. The Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil is more creamy and more affordable; however, for Canadians especially, it is not as conveniently reachable. For me even though I love both product, when both of the run out, I will gravitate toward repurchasing the Anastasia Brow Wiz because they are really similar and it is easier for me to find the Anastasia one.

That's all for today, let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think about it. What other comparisons or posts would you want to see? Let me know on my social media or leave a comment below. Thanks!

Ting.

[Comparison] Clarins HydraQuench VS Neutrogena HydraBoost

Hi!

As I mentioned in my skin care routine, I have recently been into exploring skin care products, especially facial moisturizer.Today I want to share with you a comparison between Clarins HydraQuench Cream Gel and the new Neutrogena HydraBoost Gel Cream. I have already mentioned the Clarins HydraQuench in my April Favorites, so you know I love this product. When I saw the commercial for Neutrogena's HydraBoost, it immediately reminds me of the Clarins HydraQuench.

Quick Notes on my skin
  • Sensitive
  • Dehydrated
  • Occasional oily t-zone
  • Occasional flaky nose

Let's get started!

1) Company Product Claims
Clarins:
Clarins’ Hydraquench line is a saving grace for normal to combination skin types, which are more prone to dullness and the subtle signs of ageing. Hydraquench Cream-Gel for Normal to Combination Skin offers deep hydration and a cooling sensation to dehydrated skin while tightening the pores. This unique complex turns to water upon contact with the skin. This hydrating face cream soothes and refreshes the skin while working to tone and refine the skin’s surface. This results in a smooth and long-lasting matte complexion with no trace of oily residue or shine

Neutrogena:
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is a refreshing, lightweight water gel that instantly quenches and continuously hydrates skin. Formulated with hyaluronic acid, it boosts hydration and locks it in so skin stays hydrated, smooth and supple day after day. Applies effortlessly, absorbing quickly into skin without leaving behind an oily or greasy feel.Hydro Boost hydrates skin through an approach of replenishing water and strengthening skin’s moisture barrier, leveraging two key ingredients:

2) Special Ingredient
Both contains Hyaluronic Acid. I did some research on this ingredient. According to Paulaschoice.com, Hyaluronic Acid boost skin's moisture content, reduce inflammation, have cell-communicating abilitites, and help prevent moisture loss. It also acts like a sponge for dry skin cells, that absorb water and slowly but continuously releases moisture back into skin, keeping skin hydrated throughout the day. This is an important ingredient to have for moisturizers that are made for dehydrated skin, and sensitive skin.

Clarins:
Katafray extract: helps reinforce skin's surface barrier effect and helps prevent dehydration.
Sorbier bud extract: reinforces skin hydration and radiance.
Pomegranate extract: tightens pores.

Alpine willow herb extract: helps reduce skin shine.

Neutrogena
Olive Extract: Strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, prevent excessive moisture loss. It also helps leave skin feeling soft and smooth without tackiness.

3) Formula
Left: Clarins/ Right: Neutrogena

Both products have Cream Gel formula. The formulas are light weight, absorbs easily and quickly. Both formula works pretty much the same. I would apply it on my face, quickly massage it into my skin. Few seconds after application, my face feels instantly moisturized but does not feel wet. I really enjoy the cream gel formula; however, I need to be careful because products that absorb easily usually contains alcohol. This is a perfect consistency/ texture for spring and summer because it does not linger on the face and is not sticky. Another advantage is that it can be worn underneath makeup.

ClarinsIt has a dryer consistency. The product itself is white but blends out clear. Even though it is marketed for normal to combination skin but it works for my skin.

Neutrogena: The formula is pretty white, juggles around in the container. It has a light blue color that also blends out clear.

4) Scent
They both have some sort of scents. Clarins has a light fresh scent while the Neutrogena one has a pretty strong soapy scent. I am not bothered by any of these scents; however, the Neutrogena one took me some time to get used to. To be fair, I was used to Clarin's scent since I started to use that prior to the Neutrogena one.

5) Packaging

Honestly, the similarity between the two packaging is the first thing that caught my eye. Both has a blue container with a white cap. Clarin's packaging feels more luxurious because the container itself is made with glass and it also has a stopper underneath the lid. Neutrogena on the other hand, has a plastic-like container without the stopper. I wish the Neutrogena one comes with a stopper; like I mentioned earlier, this formula is a lot runnier, having the stopper would really help.

6) Prices/ Accessibility
Clarins: .
$ 50 CAD 50ml
From Clarins/ Shoppers Drug Mart/Sephora

Neutrogena:
$24.99 CAD 47ml
From any drugstore that sells Neutrogena

Overall
I tried both product together on my face for a few times.I find that both products did what it claimed to do, providing moisture and calms my irritated skin. I find that the Neutrogena HydraBoost absorbs a little faster than the Clarin's HydraQuench. However, I prefer the scent of the Clarins  HydraQuench. I think the Neutrogena HydraBoost is definitely a good alternative for the Clarins HydraQuench since the results are the same and it is about half the price. I really recommend using one of these two products if you have dehydrated skin, sensitive skin and or irritated skin.

That's all for today, let me know what you think about comparison posts, and let me know what other product comparisons you want to see.

Ting

Spring & Summer Simple Everyday Makeup Routine

I rarely wear heavy makeup. In spring and summer especially, I like my makeup as simple as possible. Keep in mind, I have combination skin, dehydrated but occasional oily t-zone and sensitive skin. Some of the products I use may not be suitable for you but can be easily changed up to suit your skin. Also, I will be including the tools I used, just in case you're interested. (Disclaimer: a lot of the brushes you see are from My Makeup Brush Set. This is not sponsored, I purchased a big brush set from the company and I use them a lot!)

Lets get started!

Left to Right: Estee Lauder, Benefit, Maybelline
1. Benefit Porefessional

I do not use this product all over, instead I focus it in the areas with large pores, like around the nose, chin, and area between the eyebrows. I use my hands for this (clean hands of course), I feel like using my hands can really press the product into the pores and fill them up.

2. Estée Lauder Matte Perfecting Primer
I apply this product on my T-zone using, because it tends to get oily there. This product works well at making sure the makeup stay matte. It has no scent and is really lightweight. If you  have oily skin, you can use this all over the face!

3. Maybelline Pure Mineral CC Cream SPF 37

I always wait for a few minutes for primer to sink in before applying foundation. As the weather becomes warmer, applying foundation can feel heavy. So in the spring and summer time I tend to reach for CC cream or BB Cream. The other day, I accidentally found a new trick that makes my foundation more light weight. That day I forgot to apply moisturizer before applying makeup. So I mixed the Clarins Bi-facial Serum with the Maybelline Pure Mineral CC Cream, it makes the product thinner. It applies smoother and more light weight but the coverage is still the same. I also tried this trick on different foundation, even the Estée Lauder Double Wear.

Anyways, I use the Maybelline Mineral CC Cream because it has SPF. The product comes out white but as you apply it on the skin, it will turn into skin color. It brightens up my skin, and my skin appears more awake. I like to apply my foundation with my hand but if I need more coverage or my skin is in terrible condition, I will use the Beauty Blender instead. I just find that applying with my hands are much more convenient and it works fine. This CC Cream provides sheer to medium coverage. If you need more coverage, You might want to use BB Cream instead. CC Creams are for Color Correction.

4. Maybelline  Concealer Cover Stick (light beige)

I have never heard anyone talk about this product. It is a creamy product in a twist up lipstick tube form which makes it easy to handle and carry around. This works on blemishes, scars and even dark circles but I use it mainly for blemishes and scars. In the summer time especially, I don't like full coverage foundations because it tends to feel cakey on the face. Instead, I like to spot treat with concealer. I apply this directly on the needed area and use the flattop foundation brush from My Makeup Brush Set to stipple it in. Because in warmer weather cream product like this becomes softer, so it is much easier to blend out..

5. Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer (light)
I am not a big fan of applying cream products on my eyes, so I use this Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer instead. This is another underrated product that people rarely talk about (Thank you +RachhLoves for introducing this) . It actually works well all over but I like it on my lids and under eyes to brighten them up! The product comes in a squeezy tube with a brush applicator, but it can get really messy. Therefore, I always squeeze it out on the back of my hand and apply it to the eye area with my fingers.

6. Urban Decay Naked Basic

I will be using my favorite eye shadow palette for the next few steps. It's the Urban Decay Naked Palette! This is my favorite because the colors are really wearable (literally!) I was really happy I found a palette like this, I bring it every where when I travel. (I'll do a separate post on this product shortly)

Left to Right: Venus, Foxy, W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint, Crave
For my brows, I mix Naked2(taupe)+ Faint(brown) for a light brown color. I apply it using an Angled Brow Brush and blend it out with a Spooly Brush both from My Makeup Brush Set.

Using the Crown Brushes' Fluffy Eye Shadow Brush, mix Foxy (pale yellow) and W.O.S. (pale nude). I apply this combo on my eye lids and under-eye area, to "set" my concealer. For everyday makeup, I tend to go with neutral colors. This combo serves 2 major purposes, it sets the concealer, provides more coverage for veins and dark circles. It's perfect for no-makeup makeup look.

Lastly, spray some clean water or makeup mist on an Angled Eyeliner Brush and mix Faint(brown) and Crave (black). Apply this on the lash line as an eyeliner. This will give a "full lash" effect and opens up the the eyes. This is a trick, I have been using for a while because it is easier to control compared to liquid liner, it also looks more natural. Using eye shadow as eyeliner is not a new trick; however, wetting the brush before picking up the shadow color allows the color to show up more bold and last even longer.

7. Smashbox Contour Palette
Left: Smashbox contour brush,
Right: Small blending brush

Top to bottom: Highlight, Bronzer, Contour
I apply the contour color using the Smashbox Angled Contour Brush( came with the palette). The way I contour is like drawing a 3 on my face, basically just the temple, cheek bone and jaw line. Also on the side of my nose. and I will blend it all out with a Small Blending Brush.

For high light, I just use another Angled Brush and apply the powder( right) under the brows, down the nose and above my cheek bones. Again, blend it out with the Small Blending Brush.

The trick for a natural contour and highlight is BLENDING. So BLEND, BLEND BLEND!

8.Essence Princess Lashes Mascara

I mentioned in my first few post that I don't like using mascara(Is that normal?!) I decided to include this step because I am trying to use mascara more often, since I found a mascara that works on my lashes. First, I use the lash curler I received in an IPSY bag. The apply a thin coat of the Essence Princess Lashes Mascara. Since I like to keep my makeup simple and natural, I don't go back for a second coat.

9. Dior Addictive Lip Glow (coral/ pink)

Photo from Sephora.ca/ left to right: Original and Coral

I have been obsessed with the Dior Lip Glow, so I always reach for them. I have both the original one and the coral one. To be honest, I literally pick them up randomly from my makeup drawer because both are everyday color that works well with neutral eye look.

10. Rimmel Stay Matte (translucent)

Using my Big Powder Brush, I pick up the translucent powder and tap it on my arm to get rid of extra powder. I then apply it on my face starting with the t-zone, this is where it's most needed and the majority of the powder will be on here. Using the left over product, I will lightly dust over other areas. If you have dry skin like me, I recommend "spot set" your makeup with powder and use a setting spray on the rest of the face.

Last step is something a lot of people forget, but I find it important. I like to finish my routine with brushing off excess makeup my large fan brush so I won't look all powdery.

That's it, I'm ready to go! It's usually take me about 5 to 10 minutes to finish my makeup so if you are in a hurry or does not like using too much product, you can try this routine out! Share with my your favorite makeup product in the comments below and share this post if you liked it! Thank you :)

Ting

May IPSY Glam Bag Unboxing

Hello! The bag is finally here!!! I saw the pink bag from far away and I came home running toward the mailbox!

If you are unfamiliar with IPSY, it is a subscription service that is $10 USD a month in the USA. It contains 5 products, with a mix of deluxe, full size or mini samples. Every month, I always stay away from the sneak peak so I have no idea what the bag is like until I open it up. I started my subscription since November 2014, Honestly, for the past few months I was not too impressed. The April bag was starting to get better, but this month is ......find out at the end ;) haha

The theme  this month is Jetsetter. The bag is so cute and on point! I know I am going to get so much use out of this bag!!! It is a decent size too so I can easily fit my makeup in it. Off to a good start!

Here are the products. They are in no particular order, just the order I pulled them out from the bag.

Urban Decay-24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil+Bonus Revolution High-Color Lip Gloss

The lip pencil is in the shade Ozone, well, it's a clear pencil. There are two sample lip gloss in this package, Failbait and Bitter Sweet. Failbait is a light neutral pink color and Bitter Sweet is bright purple!

According to the IPSY website, this lip pencil claimed to be a long-lasting, waterproof liner that glides on smoothly to prime and define for long lasting lip color and clean lines. I swatched this on my lips and it feels light weight and not waxy. I was really happy to receive this because I have been looking for a clear lip pencil that can go underneath any lip stick!

I have not swatched the lip gloss yet because of the packaging. For packaging like this I need to find a container to keep the remaining lip gloss because this is definitely not a one-time use only product. However, I have heard many great things about the lip gloss. For example, this gloss is pigmented and not sticky! So I'm excited to try this product soon!

Chella- Eyebrow Color Pencil (0.09g)

Honestly, I have never heard of the brand, I was quite disappointed when I saw this product. My first impression of the product is that the packaging seems a bit cheap. I know that packaging is not the most important thing but it is the first thing people see before actually trying the product. That being said, I still played around with the product a bit. It is a mechanical pencil (yes!) and the sleek packaging (sounds way better!) allows the product to be lightweight and convenient to bring around. This came in the shade Tantalizing Taupe. I am really happy that the color is something I can really wear. I like to have lighter brows and this is it! Also, it goes on creamy and easily blend-able!(yay!!)

The shade reminds me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown, so I am going to do a side by side comparison with it. Let me know in the comments if you want to see a post on how the two products compare.

Luxie Beauty- Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205

I have been waiting to receive another brush in the glam bag. Last time I received the Crown-Infinity Shadow/ Crease Duet Brush, I love it! (review will be up soon) Hence I was so excited to receive this one because the packaging(?!) is so cute! This brush has a pink handle and rose gold details ❤︎ how adorable! It claims to have high quality synthetic hair bristles that is  100% Animal Cruelty Free with antibacterial solution. The bristles are so soft and bouncy, I am excited to play around with this brush more!

CoTz- Face Natural SPF 40 (0.35oz)

I thought this is just a normal sunscreen for the face. Yes, I have been looking for a good sunscreen for face but somehow I was not too excited when I saw this product. I was WRONG! I swatched this on my hand and realized this is not just a sunscreen. It has a consistency of the Benefit Porefessional Primer. It feels like a tinted moisturizer, light weight with beige color. However, it blends translucent and with a sheer matte finish. I also feel as if fills up my pores like the Benefit primer, haha! It has no scent, which is perfect for my sensitive skin! The description on the IPSY website:"100% Free of Oils, Chemical Sunscreem, Preservatives, Fragrances, Parabens, Gluten, Phythalates" (Awesome!) It also claimed to be water resistant for 80 minutres, but I'll have to try this out and let you know!

Klorane- Smoothing and Relaxing Patches

Last but not least are the soothing eye patches for refreshing, moisturizing and brightening tired eyes. Thank you IPSY for providing two packs of this product, how sweet!  This is really something I need to try on and update you on the results!

This month is amazing! It is the best bag since November when I first subscribed to IPSY. I love how this bag focuses more on the makeup

This is going to be a...

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It is a 5/5 bag for me because I am happy with all the products I received. I also feel that there seemed to be more than just 5 items to try on! I hope that June Glam Bag can be as awesome!

Please +1 and Share this post with your friends if you like to see IPSY unboxing! Leave a comment below what you received in the your glam bag or what you like most in my bag! Also let me know what you would like to see next!

Ting

My Perfume Collection

Last week my friends and I decided to visit a Sephora store after our business meeting. We were at the perfume section and randomly picking up perfume to try then I realized how different every person's scent preferences are. The perfume that are rated top 5 in the store, were mostly something I did not enjoy! (Hopefully, I'm not the only one!)

Anyways, I looked through my Perfume stash and decided to share my collection with all of you lovely people. Hopefully this will help you discover some new scents for this season! I don't wear perfume everyday and strong scents that lingers all day will give me a headache. I usually like something that's light, floral, fruity, fresh, not too sweet and I do not like Sweet, Warm scents. You will see later that half of scents in my collection are Eau de Toilette, I prefer EDT because they will evaporate, fade away faster and will not go on too strong. Eau de Parfum contains more scent concentration, which will last longer and the heart notes will really be noticeable. Moreover, I have a lot ( like A LOT) of perfume samples from my Sephora purchases but I will not be talking about them today since they're not really in  my collection (?!) I guess if someone is interested in those samples, or any perfume in particular, I can make that happen :)

So here's my perfume collection

1. Burberry Body Tender (EDT)
  1. Top Notes
  2. Heart Notes
  3. Base notes
      • This was given to me as a birthday gift from my friend 2 years ago. To me it's more of a fruity& floral warm scent. I like this more in the fall and winter times especially pairing this with scarf. It's very sophisticated but still different from the "mature" scent. Even though it is a Eau De Toilette but I find that it actually lasts a long time, hence a little goes a long way.

2. Chloe Chloe (EDP)
  1. Top Notes
  2. Heart Notes
  3. Base notes
  1. This came with the Sephora Super Star Collection last Christmas, again it's more of a sophisticated scent. I do like the floral scent but I prefer the Chloe Rose better. I don't find myself reaching for this scent in spring, I would enjoy it more during fall. (Somehow Autumn makes me reach for the more sophisticated/ warm scents, anyone feels the same too?)

3. Bebe Sheer(EDP)

  1. Top Notes
      Citruses, Floral Notes, Red Apple
  2. Heart Notes
    • Jasmine,
    • Freesia,
    • Peony
  3. Base notes
    • Musk, Sandalwood, Amber

      • Oh! My Bebe! Another gift from a friend several years ago. She knows me so well! First, I love the pink, heart bottle. Even though it's EDP but it does not come off too strong. It has a light, sweet floral scent. I reach for it a lot because it is a perfect everyday scent!! For students and people that work in a closed environment, this will be perfect because other's will not be able to smell your perfume across from the room. I always hate how I can smell people's perfume from far away or that someone next to me wears WAY TOO MUCH perfume (It totally gives me a headache or makes me dizzy, ugh!)

4. D&G Dolce (EDP)

  1. Top Notes
      Papaya Flower, Neroli
  2. Heart Notes
    • Amaryllis,
    • Narcissus,
    •  w
    • ater Lily
  3. Base notes
    • Musk, Cashmere Wood

      • This bottle is so cute, with a little flower as the cap! I redeemed this with my Sephora points. Like the bottle, this is truly floral. The scent is pretty strong but not too crazy. Just be careful when putting this on, the scent lasts for a long time, if you are like me who gets a headache from lingering scents, don't put too much on!

5. D&G Light Blue (EDT)

  1. Top Notes
  2. Heart Notes
  3. Base notes
    • Cedar wood
    • Amber
    • Musk

I LOVE this one! I purchased this last summer when I was looking for a new scent. I was at the travel size perfume counter and sniffing it away when I accidentally came across this. This has a good blend of floral and fruity. Prior to looking at the notes, I thought there's citrus in there but it's actually the sourness of the Granny smith apple that balanced out the floral and sweetness. I prefer this as a spring and summer scent because it reminds me of warmer weather, fresh air and flower blooming! Even though it's a EDT, I can smell the jasmine and white rose through out the day. Love it!

6. Playboy Play it Sexy (EDT)

  1. Top Notes
      Grapefruit, Mandarin Orange, Pink Pepper
  2. Heart Notes
  3. Base notes
    • Sandalwood,
    • Patchouli, Tonka Bean,
    • Vanilla

    • Another gift, I received this few years back as a Christmas gift from my mom. Haha I find the idea of mom giving her daughter a sexy perfume. I have to admit that the Playboy bunny cap is pretty cute. The top notes are quite enjoyable but the strong licorice scent does peak through and it took me sometime to get used to. Sweet and warm scents are not on my top lists but I do use this during winter!

7.Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy (EDP)

  1. Top Notes
    • Mandarin Orange, Wild Berries
  2. Heart Notes
  3. Base notes
    • Amber, Caramel, Praline, Sandalwood, Vanilla

This is the first perfume I have ever purchased. This Viva La Juicy perfume is definitely a younger scent. It has a good blend of floral, citrus and sweet warm scents, I wore this almost everyday in high school and I love it still. This roller ball seems never ending, I used this regularly and it does not look like it's being used at all. I'm really glad I got the roller ball size even though the full size bottle is cuter but this is so easy to carry around. I no longer wear this everyday,I now prefer this in spring and summer.

8. Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire (EDT)

  1. Top Notes
    • Burgamot
    • Almond, Sour
    • Cherry, Red Berries
  2. Heart Notes
      Rose, Tea, Taif Rose, Licorice
  3. Base notes
      Anise, Tonka Bean,Vanilla,Patchouli, Iris

This is...yes, a gift as well! This is from a special someone a few Christmases ago. It came a set with a cute pink lip gloss as well. The scent is hard to describe, it seems pretty fruity and floral. By now, I think you know I really like the mix of fruit and floral. It is a everyday perfume that is sweet innocent but with a slight hint of sexy. I can get away with this scent every season but I especially love it in the summer and winter. (yes, I know they are two opposite seasons!) For this one, you really need to smell this in person!

9. Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina (EDT)

  1. Top Notes
      Lychee, Grapefruit
  2. Heart Notes
      Rice, Rose
  3. Base notes
    Milk Mousse, Cashmere Wood

I purchased this few days ago. This is my first time smelling Salvatore Ferragamo perfumes, I am so glad I found this Eau de Toilette, the other perfumes of the same name are way too strong for me. This is really light, but definitely fruity. This is something that needs to be reapplied, but I don't mind that at all. I tried putting it on more than I need just to smell the base notes but till now, I don't think I smelled the "milk mousse". I don't even know what that smells like... This is my current favorite scent and I think this is suitable for everyday, school and work appropriate. Let's take a moment for the packaging and the bottle, It's like a blooming flower after taking apart the box packaging! Lastly, "Signorina" means young woman, which makes this perfume even more perfect as it is so suitable for me right now!

I also want to do a current Top 5, here is it:

1. Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina
2. D&G Light Blue
3. Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire
4. Bebe Sheer
5. Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy

Feel free to share with me your Top 5 list and what scents I should try next! I'm thinking about the Tory Burch perfume.

Yours Truly,

Ting
